Case StudiesFord Motor CompanyWhen Ford Motor Company found itself in danger of a late delivery of its Focus, we came to the rescue. Ford Motor Company faced a challenge with a special edition of the wildly popular Focus sport model. Ford needed just 24 pieces, printed at full production quality, for approval versions of the special car. Assembly couldn't proceed without the trim piece. Ford's only alternative was to shut down production equipment, at enormous expense, in order to print the special part. Medical ManufacturerOur flexibility helped a medical manufacturer solve its printing problems. A leading medical manufacturer needed to mark the entire, 360-degree outer surface of catheter tubing for a new product. The manufacturer met with Comdec's consulting engineers and expressed an entire range of concerns. The printing process had to mark the entire surface with high precision, and needed to avoid scuffing, scratching, tearing or contaminating the printed piece. Comdec chose pad printing as the method of choice for this project. We then adapted the basic pad printing process itself to meet the special needs of the material. We created a custom fixture that could hold the tubing firmly in place for a first printing pass, then rotate it for complete coverage. The manufacturer was able to meet their product release timetable in addition to the myriad documentation, certification and other compliance requirements of the medical device industry.
